These are table top scales that measures 8.25 inches long and 6.75 inches wide and 2.4 inches tall. 'The weighing surface on the JS-500 measures 5.75 inches by 5 inches and 3 inches in diameter on the JS-10. The Ohaus JS Sapphire Jewelry Scales run off of
a 9 Volt battery or with the AC power adapter (battery not included).

Ohaus Navigator Self Calibrating Carat/Gram

The
Ohaus Navigator scales are among the very finest carat scales available. They
are the least expensive carat scales we know of that can be certified as legal
for trade in some states. Please contact the department of weights and
measures in your state to find out if they accept this scale as legal for trade.
If you use a scale to sell gems by the carat, you must
use a scale that is legal for trade. Otherwise, the inspectors from your state's
measurements and weights department could fine you.
This is
a table top scale that measures 11" long and 7" wide and runs off of
AC power or 8 - AA batteries (batteries not included).
The
models we list below have internal calibration. So, you don't even have to bother
with calibration weights! (These Navigator scales are also available without self
calibration for a lower cost than the internal calibrating models.)

The
Ohaus Explorer Pro scales are best carat scales available. They are the only carat
scales we know of that are legal for trade in all states and is NTEP approved.
If
you use a scale to sell gems by the carat, you must use a scale that is legal
for trade. Otherwise, the inspectors from your state's measurements and weights
department could fine you.
This is a table top scale that measures
roughly 13-3/4"" long and 8-1/4" wide and runs off of AC power
in either 110-120 or 220-240 Volts, 50/60 Hz.
